One piece of walnut. Not a veneer.
Most “wooden” card holders are a sliver of wood glued over plastic. This is machined from a single block of solid black walnut, so the grain runs through the body — and no two are identical.
Dense, close-grained hardwood that darkens as it ages. No veneer, no laminate, no filler.
The lid pivots on a brass rivet and snaps shut on a magnet buried inside the wood. Nothing visible on the outside.
A single machined pivot. It is the only piece of hardware in the whole thing, and it will outlast the cards.
Pocket-sized, on purpose
Sized to disappear in a front pocket while still holding a real wallet’s worth of cards.
Wood gets better. Plastic just gets old.
Black walnut deepens in colour with handling. A little oil once or twice a year keeps it rich — otherwise leave it alone and let it age.
Will it scratch my cards?+
No. The interior is sanded smooth and the cards sit against wood, not metal. There is no RFID lining and no sharp edge to catch a magnetic stripe.
Does the magnet affect bank cards?+
The magnet is a small closure magnet set away from where the cards sit. Modern chip and contactless cards are not affected by it.
What if it gets wet?+
Dry it with a cloth and let it air. Do not soak it or leave it on a radiator — solid wood moves when it dries too fast.
Is every one the same?+
No. The grain is different on every piece, so the one you receive will not look exactly like the photos.
