About this design
A painted bed of cosmos in full collapse — coral, magenta, violet and dusty pink crowding each other out of the frame — with monarchs and small blue butterflies picking their way through it. Loose brushwork, thick highlights, and a warm cream light sitting behind the whole thing like late afternoon.
Everything blooming at once.

A whole summer on one small lid.
A painted bed of cosmos in full collapse — coral, magenta, violet and dusty pink crowding each other out of the frame — with monarchs and small blue butterflies working their way through it.
Cosmos is the flower that grows best in poor soil and refuses to be arranged. It does what it likes and it looks better for it. Thick brushwork, a warm cream light behind it, and butterflies that were clearly not invited.
It isn't a card holder.
It's a small rebellion.
